KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah FA is racing against time in getting its latest foreign signing Dumisa Ngobe to make his maiden debut for the Rhinos, who will be taking on Selangor PKNS in a Premier League opener at the Likas Stadium tonight.

At press time, the former South African World Cup star was still doubtful for the game, as there were still minor glitches that needed to be resolved before he could be cleared to play.

Team manager Rahman Zakaria said: “We are trying our best to get everything done, and hopefully he will be able to play tomorrow (tonight).”

“It is only a minor technicality that needs to be resolved and I hope it will be done in time for the match,” he added.

Rahman said that their two other foreign players, both strikers Nigerian Charles Obi and Namibian Paulus Shitaleni Shipanga are certain to make their Premier League debut.

“In training, they have been doing great and I hope that they will do the same tomorrow night,” Rahman said.

Charles and Paulus will be among the five Sabah new signings to make their debut for the team.

Former national player Chow Chee Weng, Ahmad Tharmini Saiban and S. Sunder are also expected to start the game alongside Ronny Harun, Henry Parsi, Burhan Ajui, Rosdin Wasli and goalkeeper G. Jeevanatham.

Ahmad is likely to start the game at the Rhinos backline together with Ronny, Burhan, and Henry Parsi, while Chow will be on the right side of midfield with Sunder left. Dumisa and Rosdin will be the men at the middle of the park.

Croatian coach Drago Mamic also has another nine players on the bench to pick from, as starting from this season, each team are allowed to name 20 players in any match.
