Sabah will kick-off their campaign tonight, againts new-comer club SDMM Kepala Batas from Penang. With a relatively new and young team, new coach Wathiq must surely be hoping that his young guns could perform above their very best through-out the season to bring Sabah back to its glorious days.
But most importantly, to bring back the thousands of fans who used to throng the stadium every match. Every match last season saw only a few hundreds of them coming back. While this is happening in almost every stadium in the country, none is worse than for those in the lower leagues like Sabah.
FAM’s decision to move match days from the weekends is a good step as it is next to impossible to get the fans to choose the local league instead of the English Premier League.
SAFA has also decided to leave the ticket prices unchanged, meaning seats for the open area is RM7 while those under the roof is priced at RM10.
Being a Friday night and most of us are not working tomorrow, I would encourage all of you to come and show your support to our youngsters. They are the future of our football and will need all the encouragement they could get.
If you are going, then you can join the rest of us members from the forum. We will gather at the Sukma Stone from 7.30pm onwards and will get in by 8.00pm.
See ya there! – mrBadak
