KOTA KINABALU: Sabah were let down by poor finishing yet again as their second defeat of the season at the hands of T-Team on Monday give an early impression that there is indeed a lot to be done especially on their finishing!
After six matches into the new season, it seems that the team is singing the same old song where their inconsistency starts to show. In fact Sabah made the same start as last season, albeit that last time around they scored more goals.
For the record, last season, they also recorded two wins and two draws in their first four games and then lost the fifth and sixth matches.
The only difference is the consequence of the results.
And unless the Rhinos realise or are aware that only hard work and true dedication and commitment on and off the field will do the trick, it will be the same ending for the team no matter who is sitting on the hot seat!
Team manager Rahman Zakaria rues their missed chances for the defeat. “The team played well. They tried hard, but our problem is we just could not score the goals.”
“They had two chances and they scored, and we created so many chances but we just could not finish them off.
“So now we must be smart enough and try to do extra work on our finishing. And unless we rectify this we will be having problems in our coming matches,” he added.
And Rahman hopes they would start their scoring act with their next game away to PKNS FC on April 3.
On Monday, Sabah lost 1-2 to the visiting Terengganu outfit.
