KEDAH, (Stadiumastro) – Farderin Kadir goal in the 76th minute helped Kuala Muda to overcome stubborn Sabah 2-1 to notch their first win Group D in the Malaysia Cup competition at the Darulaman Stadium, last night.

Kuala Muda Naza and Sabah – suffered defeats in their first match last Saturday, started on a cautious note with both teams were content to restrict their opponents in their own halves.
After several fruitless long-range attempts, Sabah managed to break the deadlock four minutes before the break when Wong Sai Kong was at the right place to capitalize on the opportunity with a simple tap in.
Kuala Muda Naza came back strongly in the second half and the homesters only need two minutes to level the scoreline. Liew Kit Kong erased Sabah’s early advantage when he found the net through a header in the 47th minute.
Sabah continue to launch attempts to search for the second goal but Kuala Muda Naza’s defense have answers to thwart everything that the visitors threw at them.
Against the run of play, Farderin cleverly took advantage of lapses in the Sabah’s defense in the 76th minute to free himself in the penalty area and scored the winning goal for his team.
