A solitary goal from Juffry Omopor was enough to give Sabah a much-needed 3 points in their fight against relegation. After a run of 5 consecutive losses including the humiliating 9-0 defeat to Singapore LIONSXII, this win couldn’t come any sooner.
The winning-goal was scored in the 31at minute by crowd-favourite and the man they call Messi. The win allowed Sabah to leap-frog Kedah into 12th place with 22 points. Sabah is now tied with Johor FC but they have a game in hand.
Sabah’s next match is against bottom team Kuala Lumpur who is still winless after 20 games. There is no excuse to get all 3 points from the team that only scored 8 goals and conceded 36 goals in 20 games.
The match against the city dwellers is this Saturday and will be held in Likas instead even though KL is host.
